Charlie Joe,

OUR KNOW-HOW

Philippe Rossi, exercises his talents as a stylist and modeler since he was 18 years for different brands. Where, Muriel Jaffe is specialized in sales and retail. Both combine their expertise in the Charlie Joe adventure.

Months of work come into the creation of a piece, a print, an embroidery.

Muriel and Philippe start by inspiring themselves from old books, strolls in the market, or inspiring trips, all transcribed on a drawing.

Tweaked, redesigned, adapted...

Each imagined piece is associated with a certain palette of harmonious colors, built-in parallel for the entire collection, as well as associated with particular materials.

The sketches are then sent to the factory responsible for their productions, in order to create patterns.

Once the patterns have been created, the production team, supervised by Muriel and Philippe, handcraft a prototype for each item planned in the collection.

A work of patience that requires special attention to details for each of the pieces.

Philippe and Muriel have the chance to work hand in hand with masters of embroidery, dyeing, sewing, and many others. People who, by passion, practice and adapt their traditional and ancestral techniques to each collection.

Once each element has been validated, production can start.

Ancestral techniques for creating prints such as tie&dye and block print are frequently used in Charlie Joe's collections.

Handcrafted, they give way to slight irregularities on the fabrics, an additional charm making each piece unique.

THE TIE&DYE,

based on dyeing a material, giving it a more or less pronounced color gradience.

Indeed, the shapes and intensities of colors can vary depending on the tie and dye technique: using an elastic giving a rounded shape for example or by clothespins bringing a more square shape to the dyed fabric.

THE PRINT BLOCK,

shapes are printed on a piece of fabric using a wooden pad.

The drawn pattern is engraved on a piece of exotic wood and then treated.

Once the wooden pad is ready for use, the craftsman applies the pad precisely to the fabric repeating this gesture on all the required surfaces. A process applied for each print and their different color shades.

Once the collection is complete, Muriel and Philippe, their daughter and muse Charlie, and a photo studio team give life to the beautiful pieces in magical locations (Marrakech, Bali, the Calanques of Marseille, the Carmargue and many others). others) that represent best the collection's inspirations.

Transparent communication, "where we want to draw up travel charts" Muriel Jaffe.
